When I went to Florida this winter, my mums aunt showed me a mini album she had made. When she told me it was made out of toilet paper rolls I couldn’t believe her. I really really wanted to try this, and yesterday I did!
So this is most of the applies you need (and some more scrapbook stuff, like paper and so on). As you can see I’ve flattened the rolls. And I used seven, which was great. If you use more, the risk is that is gets too thick. And we need to talk about the hole punching tool, if you don’t have one, it’s time to buy it. One of my most used tools!
Measure your flattened roll to get the ‘roll width’ and the ‘roll length’, and then add some extra length on both sides. Above you can see the paper size I used for each roll.
As you can see I’ve cut the edges and tucked (and glued) them inside of the roll. Do that with the rest as well.
Make sure you cut the end of the paper in line with the top of the roll.
Do it with all of them!
Measure the paper you want to have inside of the rolls.
Fix all of them the way you like it!
Make sure they fit.
To make it easier to pull them out from the roll we are going to add ribbon in the end, I punched out flowers to have around it.
Use the hole punching tool to punch out hole in the flowers.
Add the ribbon!
Mark where you want to punch the holes for the binding.
Punch two holes for the rings that are going to bind the toilet rolls together. If you don’t have rings, you can use some ribbon if you wish.
Use the first holes you made as a template for the others.
Add eyelets to each hole.
Bound the pages together with the rings.
Tie some coordinated ribbon to embellish the album.
And here is the result of the mini album! (Added pictures later). This project was A LOT of fun. And so easy! I really recommend you to try it. And remember that you can use my guide as a template and use what you have at home. I find it easiest to start with choosing color of paper and try to match it with the pictures you are going to use.
Please let me know if you have any questions! And if you’ve tried it, please let me know how it worked out 🙂 You can find the result in my Instagram story as well! And if you are intrested in seeing more of my scrapbook projects, it’s all collected here. Xx0
