✄ DIY PACKING CUBES

0

Okay do you remember this posts where I wrote I wanted to be more organized? Well, here is another project that I’ve made to try to succeed. Been looking EVERYWHERE for bags like this to bring when I’m traveling but either they’ve been too expensive or they haven’t just been good looking. So why not try doing it myself?

This is what you need to do the travel bags! And of course a sewing machine, if you don’t want to do it by hand, which I’m sure works just as good!

STEP 1
The first thing you’re gonna do is measure. Make sure the fabric is as long as the zipper. Then cut as big as you want it. Remember that cut a centimeter more to make room for your stitches.

STEP 2
Pin the fabric together, and don’t forget that you are going to sew on the inside of the bag, so make sure the fabric is on the right side.

STEP 3
Now it’s time to start sewing! Sew every length except one (where the zipper is gonna go).

STEP 4
This is how it’s gonna look!

STEP 5
Time for the zipper! Pin it where you want it to go, I wanted it to go on the outside, and sew one way.

STEP 6
This is how it’s gonna look like!

STEP 7
Now do the same thing but on the other side.

STEP 8
This is how it will turn out!

STEP 9
Do the same thing with as many as you want to have, I made three.

STEP 10
Now it’s time for the letters. I used textile glue and bought scrapbook letters. You might as well use “iron letters”, but they didn’t have any in the store so I did it this way.

….And here is the result! Nice, huh? I really really like these, and it was a great DIY project! You have no idea how long it took for me to choose the color, and when I finally decided to go on white fabric, the seller told me it will get dirty immediately. So I ended up with pink. But I like it! Next time I’m going to use a fabric with pattern.
